What is a webmaster? A webmaster is typically involved in the maintenance of websites. However, it is a broad term and can also describe a person who’s actually creating and administrating sites and could be involved in content creation and marketing processes as well. 

All of this greatly depends on what kind of webmaster we’re talking about. Many small business owners who run internet companies would either call them affiliates, webmaster, or something along the line – their job list is generally very long. Webmasters that work for larger corporations are usually responsible for maintaining a site and making sure everything works correctly, but are not involved in content creation or marketing. Site and server administration CAN be part of a corporate webmaster position. Webmaster vs Web Developer

A web developer usually knows a great deal more about programming – he will do the heavy lifting when it comes to programming modules for Drupal or programming site features. 

Webmasters generally should also know a lot about programming, but depending on the position you would rather program smallers thing and make sure they work correctly. If they don’t work correctly, a webmaster would report it to the web developer to fix it. 

Again, this is different for small businesses and large corporations, that’s why it’s really difficult to draw a line somewhere
