Quite often, you need to figure out what Apache modules are currently loaded.

If you have access to a shell on your server, you can log into your server shell using a tool like Putty and then see what modules are loaded

1. Open up Putty and log into your server using SSH

2. If you’re using WHM and you’re on CentOS go to /usr/local/apache/bin

3. Enter ./apachectl -l

Compiled modules

The list will be a little longer – you should get familiar with Apache modules. Some modules such as Frontpage might pose a security risk and you should re-compile Apache without it.

If you have a panel like WHM / cpanel you can use EasyApache to recompile Apache without Frontpage
